Oregon Fencing Alliance

Our Story

Oregon Fencing Alliance (OFA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of fencing and providing a supportive environment for fencers of all ages and skill levels. Our mission is to encourage physical fitness, support a fencing club, establish and promote formal instruction in fencing throughout the community, and hire world-class coaches to train fencers for national and international competition.

Our Coaches and Staff

Our coaching staff is comprised of experienced and accomplished fencers and coaches who have achieved great success in their respective careers. Our head coach, Adam Skarbonkiewicz, is a former U.S. National Sabre Champion and world champion fencing coach. Adam has a strong national and international record of coaching success, including guiding his daughter, Magda, to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, three world championships, Junior and Cadet in 2022, and the cadet world championship in 2021.

Our Programs and Services

At OFA, we offer a range of programs and services designed to meet the needs of fencers at all levels of experience. Our programs include:

• Group and private lessons with experienced coaches
• Summer and winter training camps that attract fencers from clubs around the country
• Saturday morning classes for kids as young as 6
• Adult and recreational classes for those who want to experience fencing
• Community classes and camps at schools and recreation centers in the greater Portland area
• Private facility conveniently located at Oregon Episcopal School
• Availability for parties, team-building sessions, and other events

Our dedicated private facility is located at Oregon Episcopal School, providing a comfortable and convenient environment for fencers to train and practice. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art fencing equipment and is designed to accommodate fencers of all ages and skill levels.

Our History

The Oregon Fencing Alliance has a rich history of producing successful fencers who have gone on to achieve great things. Our club has a strong tradition of excellence, with many of our fencers winning Olympic medals, World Championships, National Championships, and NCAA championships. We are proud of our heritage and look forward to continuing our legacy of excellence in the world of fencing.
